I really hate buying in to the latest Pinterest fads…burlap, mason jars, coconut oil….but sometimes I am weak. I will admit it. I LOVE coconut oil. I use it on my hair, my face, my body, in my cooking, I shave my legs with it, make body scrub out of it…the only problem I have with it is that sometimes it is a little frustrating to emulsify, especially when using it on a large area. So I saw on Pinterest where some people whip it. I decided to try it.
I buy my coconut oil at Trader Joe’s.
I put about a cup of it in my trusty circa 1977 Kitchen Aid mixer, passed to my by my mom when she wanted a pretty new one in about 1995.
I put on the whip attachment (that is the technical term) and let her whip for 6 minutes, which is what I hear the proper amount of time is.
It then looked like this:
I used a spatula and put it in a mason jar (Good grief! Another Pinterest cliche! I guess I should wrap the jar with a burlap ribbon!).
It is SO much easier to use now! I wish I would have tried this sooner!
