This week for Sunday dinner, I decided it was time for chocolate again.
I had the cake in the oven, went to make the glaze, and realized that I didn’t have any more chocolate chips to make the glaze I usually make. So I improvised. I had a jar of Nutella, and made a glaze out of that. It turned out great!
1 box of Devil’s Food Cake Mix
1 box of instant chocolate pudding
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a bundt or tube pan. Combine ingredients in a large bowl, and mix with a hand mixer ( or you can do this with a stand mixer) for about 2 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, and fold in by hand. Pour into bundt or tube pan, and bake for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Turn out onto a plate.
In a small saucepan, mix together:
1 12 oz. jar Nutella
1 stick of butter
Stir over medium heat until melted. Remove from heat, add 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour over warm cake.
