How it works: The subscription of choice for nail polish addicts, the Julep Maven box comes filled with new nail polish colors plus other beauty products selected based on your style profile. We love the flexibility with this one: The company emails you on the 20th of every month with a preview of next month’s box, so you can choose to ship or skip. You can even try a different box or send your box to a friend.
I received the first of my April boxes last week, my Julep Maven box. I was a little worried about liking this subscription, to be honest. I am really weird about nail polish, which is what Julep is known for. I always have a pedicure, but I don’t have my fingernails polished that often. In healthcare, I always had short nails, with no polish, and I am really bad about keeping nail polish looking good. I also get pedicures every four weeks, so I don’t use much polish at all, except for touch ups.
That being said, you can select an option where you don’t get as much polish in your box, you get makeup instead. The polish colors I have gotten, I have really liked, though.
Here is this month’s box….
Julep Glow Pore Minimizing Bronzer
I, of course, ran right to my room to try them out. The first thing I noticed is that they were really powdery…when I used my brush on them I stirred up what looked like at least a teaspoon of product! I tapped off the excess, but I don’t know how long these will last! The color was really great, though. It is hard to find a bronzer when you are a fair skinned blonde that doesn’t make you look like you have cocoa powder smeared on your face, but this one looks really natural.
The peach blush kind of reminds me of Nars Orgasm, which is one of my all-time favorites. So far, it is starting out to be a good beauty box month!
