Ever since Christmas I have been a total slacker. From housework, my diet, working out, my blog, my antiques business, my Plexus business, homeschool, church…
I didn’t do it intentionally, it just kind of happened. I just kind of slipped in to a totally non-productive state. If I hadn’t taken a break, I think I would have had a breakdown!
In 2014 I became totally overwhelmed. I started a wonderful new journey, but I added a booming new business on top of way too many things. I was trying to juggle my responsibilities at home (with a husband away working in Saudi Arabia since the summer of 2013), the responsibilities for my different businesses, my new health and fitness programs, homeschooling, sports…and I ended dropping all of the balls that I was trying to keep in the air.
I should have been better about taking breaks, and about not trying to go all in with everything. I need to be better at knowing my limitations, and not trying to be superwoman and admitting my limitations.
I have been spending a lot of time with my sons, my dog and new puppy, and trying to spend more time with friends. I have also been reading a lot of trashy books, watching Bravo and lots of 80’s movies. I have been going too long without washing my hair, and spending whole days without leaving the house, putting on makeup, doing my hair, or wearing anything that doesn’t have elastic waistbands.
I am at peace at this point in my life with the fact that I am a total introvert, and need hermit time to recharge my batteries.
I did do a lot of soul searching, a lot of planning, and a whole lot of list making while I was on my break.
I have come up with a blogging schedule that I am pleased with:
- Monday: Weekly Weigh In
- Tuesday: Junk
- Wednesday: Weekly Menu Plan and Cooking
- Thursday: Planning and Organizing
- Friday: Home and Garden
- Saturday: Favorite Things
I had a graphics designer redo my blog logo, graphics, and came up with a color scheme and patterns for my blog. I really love the finished product!
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
