Here is another one of my flea market orphans. I am such a hoarder when it comes to certain things! I don’t even want to know how many chairs my husband and I have accumulated in our warehouse, and little tables are probably a close second!
This one has been sitting beside my bed in all of its glory (and dust) for a long time now. It is the perfect height for a bedside table, and I like the little shelf.
I sanded the top to try and get it smooth again, and then applied one coat of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Ironstone. I then applied two coats of Apron Strings.
I love MMS milk paint. I am essentially a horrible painter. I am impatient and messy. With milk paint, it doesn’t matter. It mixes up so easily, all you do is put the powder in a jar, add water, mix it up, and you are ready to paint. It comes in 18 awesome colors, and you can control the color with how much water you mix with it, and you can mix different colors together.
After the second coat of Apron Strings dried, it was already starting to get nice and chippy. I went back with some gold craft paint and highlighted some of the detailing, and then waxed it with some MMS Antiquing Wax.
